Ann P. (DiChiaro) Maglio

 the wife of the late Raymond R. Maglio, Sr., passed away peacefully at the age of 85 with her family by her side in Johnston, RI on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Born in Providence, she was the eldest daughter of the late Lawrence DiChiaro and Margaret DiChiaro (Konze). She was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1958 and helped her parents care for their large family during her teenage years.

Ann and her husband Ray found a home with a big yard in a safe neighborhood in Johnston on Truman Street where their children could make friends, explore, ride bikes and perfect the art of frog catching. Together, they worked tirelessly to pay off the mortgage in 12 years because Ann believed something was not truly theirs until it was paid in full.

Ann was strong, humble, hardworking and exceptionally kind. She believed in family, faith and giving to others. The Maglio Family became parishioners of Saint Robert Bellarmine Parish in 1967.

Ann was employed for many years at Star Market in Cranston and worked with Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence until her retirement. What she loved the most about her work was engaging with families and their children, giving a hug, smile and hope.

She was a great lover of country music and dancing, known as the “Dancing Nana”. She enjoyed playing cards with the same group of close friends for many decades. She was an avid swimmer and loved the beach and living in her condominium over Narragansett Bay in Pawtuxet Village where she later moved to.

Ann is survived by her three children: Joyce M. Maffeo (Maglio) and her husband Ben, of Leominster, MA; Raymond R. Maglio Jr of Charlestown, RI and David Allan Maglio and his husband Christopher of Boston, MA.

She was the devoted Nana of six: Kathryn, Corey, Shayla, Nicole, Ray-Ray, and Nicholas and great-grandmother of four: Azaleo, Oliver, Caltheo and Everly.

She was the sister to Linda Ravita and her husband Donald of Johnston, Larry DiChiaro and his late wife Janice of Cranston, Dennis DiChiaro of Johnston; and the late Richard DiChiaro.

Ann’s family would like to thank the angels at Cherry Hill Nursing Home for the love, respect and dedication that they showed for Ann when she needed it the most.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston on Tuesday March 17, 2026 at 10:00AM followed by a ceremony at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston where Ann will be laid to rest with her husband.
