of Lincoln, passed away on December 16, 2016 at Miriam Hospital, Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of 38 years to Dennis G. Morsilli. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of Ruth (Laushway) Beretta of Lincoln and the late Joseph A. Beretta.
Ann began dancing at the age of 5 at Brae Crest School of Ballet. She had been a professional ballet dancer since the age of 19 with Festival Ballet in Providence where she was a principal dancer for many years. Her transition to competitive ballroom dancing took her throughout the United States as well as numerous countries worldwide. Some of her numerous awards were US National Pro-Am Theater Arts Champion , North American Imperial Show Dance Champion, World Masters Pro-Am Open 9 Dance Champion, just to name a few. In addition to her training in the field of dance, Ann also held a degree in early childhood education, Psychology and Sociology. Ann was a teacher of social dancing at LaSalle Academy for 15 years. Ann was always a giver, never wanting credit or recognition. Her greatest pleasure was the pleasure of others.
Besides her husband and mother she is survived by her loving children, Bianca Morsilli of Johnston, Serena Vaslet and her husband Garrett of North Providence, her stepson David Vermette of MA; her dear siblings Joseph Beretta of Lincoln, Richard Beretta of Lincoln, Dr. James Beretta of AL, Marybeth Beretta , RSM of PA and Kathryn Mancini of North Providence. Ann was also the cherished grandmother of 4.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday December 23, 2016 at 10:00 am in St. Jude’s Church, Lincoln. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted and her burial will be private.
