Ann M. (Abood) Scorpio

73, of Cranston, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Thomas) Abood.

Ann worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield in the Claims Department for 20 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality of St. George Maronite Catholic Church.

Ann was the devoted mother of Thomas Scorpio, III and his wife Stefanie and Virginia S. Solomon and her husband Peter, all of Cranston; loving grandmother of Peter Jr., Jenna, Chelsea, Fallon, Victoria and Thomas IV; dear sister of John Abood and his wife Sharon of Providence, Charlotte Tavares and her husband Alan of Pawtucket, Marie Sinesi of North Providence, and the late Paul Abood. She was the beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of Elizabeth Abood, J oan Badway, Joseph Abood, Jr.

Visiting hours will be in St. George Maronite Catholic Church (formerly St. Ann Church), 1493 Cranston St., Cranston on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. George Maronite Catholic Church and the family will be accepting visitors there at 9 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 1493 Cranston St. Cranston, RI 02920 or to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
