Previously of Plainfield Street, Johnston died on Monday September 7, 2015 at the St. Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich. She was the wife of the late John Taglione. Born in Johnston, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Carmella (DiLullo) Perfetto. She lived in Johnston most of her life.
She was the Executive Secretary of Mental Health Services of Johnston for 20 years, retiring in 1992, and then became a volunteer at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital Information Desk for several years.
She was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Church. She was a Eucharistic minister for Rhode Island Hospital and for St. Robert Bellarmine Church. She was a past member and secretary of the Claiborne Pell Manor Association.
She was the loving mother of three sons, Raymond Taglione of Jacksonville, FL, Ronald Taglione of Glocester, and the late Robert Taglione and three daughters, Ann Marie Simonelli of North Kingstown, Teresa Matthews of Jacksonville, FL, and Lisa Taglione of Johnston. She loved her four grandsons, John Taglione, Johnny Matthews, Michael and Ryan Simonelli.
She leaves four brothers, Ralph Perfetto of North Carolina, Alfred Perfetto and Anthony Perfetto of Johnston and William Perfetto of Cranston and four sisters, Connie Hannan, Minnie Perfetto and Sue Perfetto all of Johnston, and Sister Eleanor Perfetto ASCJ of Hamden, CT. She was the sister of the late Madeline Perfetto, Elizabeth Travaglio, Florence DiDonato, Nicholas Perfetto, Vincent Perfetto and Louis Perfetto.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:30a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
