Annette C. (Nardella) Stewart, 84, of Cranston, entered into the presence of the Lord on February 13, 2026. Born on June 14, 1941, Annette lived a life defined by deep faith, unwavering devotion to her family, and loving service to others.
She was the beloved wife of the late COL (Ret.) Gerald Stewart, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. As a devoted military wife, she supported her husband unconditionally throughout his distinguished career, faithfully caring for their home and family with humility, strength, and grace.
Annette was a loving and devoted mother to LTC (Ret.) Richard Stewart; Doreen Assanti and her late husband Robert; and Susan Aceto and her husband Luigi. She was a cherished and proud grandmother to Richard Stewart; SFC Michael Aceto and his wife SFC Ashley; Stephanie Ownjazayeri and her husband Graeme; Adriana Aceto; and Antonio Aceto. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating memories filled with love, laughter, and warmth.
She was the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia (Tavorelli) Nardella, and was predeceased by her dear siblings, Norma Manning, Joseph Nardella, and Agnes Beaumier.
Annette’s deep Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. From a young age, she walked to church each morning to attend daily Mass before school, forming the habits of devotion that would guide her throughout her life. Her vocation of caring for others began within her own family, as she lovingly helped care for her grandmother. That same spirit of selfless service became her lifelong calling, which she carried into adulthood as she tenderly cared for her mother and brother, and later poured that same nurturing love into her children and grandchildren.
A cherished member of Immaculate Conception Church, Annette was deeply connected to her parish community. She attended Mass faithfully and served as a Eucharistic Minister for 26 years, forming lasting friendships and touching many lives through her service. She prayed the rosary daily, found comfort in watching Mother Angelica, and generously supported Catholic charities, always seeking to help those in need and strengthen her faith community.
Annette delighted in the simple blessings of life – watching Hallmark Christmas movies, shopping at Marshalls with her granddaughters, indulging in a cup of maple walnut ice cream, listening to her beloved Andrea Bocelli, baking her famous wine biscuits, enjoying coffee and meals with friends, and sharing laughter with those she loved. These ordinary moments were, for her, reflections of God’s goodness.
She will be remembered for her sweet and warm presence, generous heart, and quiet strength that brought comfort and light to everyone around her. Her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on in the many lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Her funeral will leave at 9:15 am on Friday February 20, 2026, from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Dr., Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. VISITING HOURS will be held on Thursday February 19 from 4:00- 7:00 pm.
