Anthony A. Moschetti

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of ANTHONY MOSCHETTI on May 13, 2026. He was surrounded by the love of his beloved wife, Cheryl (Kingsbury) Moschetti, and his devoted daughters, who remained by his side until the end.

Anthony was the cherished husband of Cheryl. He was the proud father of Tammy Barone and her husband, Joseph, and Lesa Volpe and her fiancé, John Bizzacco. He was also the stepfather of Adriana Aiken and her husband, Will.

Beloved grandfather of Nicole and her husband, Matteo; Joseph; Vincent and his girlfriend, Gill; Dominic and his fiancée, Devin; Gunner; and Giuliana. Loving great-grandfather to Giovanni and Nicolo. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Blaze, who was a cherished part of the family.

Anthony was the rock of his family. He lived life fully, worked hard, loved deeply, and left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Known by many nicknames throughout his life — “Sugarfoot” from his CB radio days, “Amos,” “Musket,” and lovingly “Big Tony” — Anthony was larger than life and unforgettable to everyone who knew him.

A proud Vietnam veteran, Anthony served in the Army National Guard, where he built lasting bonds with the men he came to consider brothers - friendships that remained strong throughout his life.

Following his service, Anthony built a successful career through hard work, determination, natural talent, and an entrepreneurial drive that began early when he opened Tony’s Grinderama, a sandwich shop on Plainfield Street. Though to Anthony they were always “sang-wiches,” a family joke that stayed with him throughout his life. He later became owner of A. Moschetti Construction, Air-Bor, and A-Team Petroleum, earning a reputation for his exceptional skill operating backhoes and excavators. He built gas stations and even the homes where his family would one day create lasting memories.

One of Anthony’s proud accomplishments was purchasing and renovating his commercial garage on Webb Street. He spent most days there, and it became more than just a shop — it was a gathering place where friends would stop by, share stories, laugh, and spend time together.

Outside of work, Anthony lived life with passion and personality. In his younger years, he was a proud member of the Riding 76ers motorcycle club and loved taking rides on his Harley. He also had a lifelong love for the water, inspired by his father and the summers spent at Ring Rock Acres and Johnson’s Pond. Over the years, Anthony developed a true passion for boating, starting with a small boat and eventually working his way up to his beloved Silverton Sport Bridge, the Cheryl Lynn. He was happiest out on the water, proudly serving as captain of the boat and navigating it with confidence and skill. Some of his happiest memories were made at the marina with family and friends, riding jet skis, quahogging, relaxing on the water, and simply enjoying life.

Anthony and Cheryl loved spending their winters in Hollywood, Florida, where they purchased a condo at The Wave and built lasting friendships. Anthony enjoyed the warm weather, card games at the casino, and the many memories made there together. Never one to sit still, he proudly served as President of the Board at The Wave, using his construction knowledge and hands-on skills to help improve and maintain the building. Through his leadership and willingness to help, he earned the respect and friendship of many in their Florida community.

Anthony had a lifelong love of playing cards, from the days spent at Montecarlo with the guys to later years playing Texas Hold ’em at the casino, always joking that he was “going to work today.”

Anthony also had a passion for antique cars and built an impressive collection over the years. Among his favorites was his prized 1935 Chevy Hot Rod, a car he took great pride in. He enjoyed attending car shows with friends and was no stranger to bringing home a trophy or two. His garage walls, lined with trophies collected over the years, reflected not only his success but the pride and joy he found in the hobby he loved. His passion extended beyond collecting, as he even hosted car shows at the shop, bringing together friends, food, music, and a shared love of classic cars.

Anthony was also a fighter. Over the years, he battled cancer three separate times, overcoming the odds every time with the same toughness, determination, and resilience that defined his life. He had an incredible ability to fight back and prove people wrong. Those who knew him believed that if he had been given the chance, he would have fought this battle too. Sadly, this battle came too quickly and without warning.

Though Anthony could appear tough on the outside, those who knew him best knew the enormous heart behind it. He was funny, handsome with unforgettable blue eyes, and somehow always looked younger than his years. He was generous beyond measure, always willing to lend a hand, help someone in need, or figure out a solution no one else could. In his later years, he discovered a quieter joy in building handcrafted birdhouses for friends, family, and even members of his medical team — small gifts that reflected the kindness behind the strong man everyone admired.

Anthony lived life completely on his own terms. If there were ever a song that captured his spirit, it would be Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.”

His family will forever miss his strength, humor, advice, stories, and larger-than-life presence. Though their hearts are broken, they find comfort knowing his legacy lives on in the family he built, the friends he treasured, and the countless lives he touched along the way.

His funeral will be held on Friday May 22, 2026 at 9:45 am. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Rocco’s Church, 927 Atwood Ave. Johnston.
