80, of South Kingstown, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024, with his family. He was the husband of Teresa “T.C.” (DeRobbio) Coletta for fifty nine years.
T.C. and Anthony met at North Providence High School in 1960. They started their married life on Federal Hill and worked hard to later settle in South County; together they traveled, entertained, and supported their growing family.
Anthony was the co-owner of Coletta’s Downtown Auto Service which he built with his father and brother over fifty years. He devoted his career to its success. Anthony developed the towing and mechanics at Coletta’s on Richmond Street. He, his brother, and dozens of employees worked around the clock responding to calls that varied from flat tires to harrowing tractor trailer crashes on Route 95. Anthony was most proud to build a force of workers who supported their families, all of whom found brotherhood at Coletta’s. He had a sense of humor that was renowned, including epic pranks. When Anthony retired from Coletta’s he went on to build The Coletta Group, a real estate holdings company where he served as CEO. He was a longtime member of the RI Towing Association and the Knights of Columbus. Anthony enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and wine making (his Barolos and Nebbiolos are coveted by his family).
Born in Providence, Anthony was the elder son of Antonio and Nancy (Marchetti) Coletta and is survived by two siblings, Michael P. and Theresa A. Coletta. He leaves four children: Natalie Coletta and her husband Steven Sanford; Anthony J. Coletta and his wife Maliss Men Coletta; and his four cherished grandchildren, Chantrea and Sokeara Coletta Sanford, and Sarika and Devie Coletta. Anthony was a family man first and spoke of the importance of his family until his last breaths. He will be remembered as a generous, quick-minded man, a friend to many, a joker and a gentleman, and above all, a profoundly devoted husband, father and grandpa. Tu sarai sempre nei nostri cuori. Finché ci ricontreremo, il nostro Amore.
