98, of Coventry passed away on May 3, 2017 peacefully at home. He was born on February 8, 1919 in Providence to the late Michael and Louise (Pitassi) Gizzarelli. He was self-employed and owned his own business, Dial Battery for 20 years, a U.S. Army Airforce Veteran serving during WWII, a dedicated Red Sox fan and a devoted family man.
He married Rita on December 27, 1941 and was joyfully married for 75 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Carmino and Albert; and sisters Flora, Mary, Christina, and Elenora.
He is survived by his beloved wife Rita; daughter Elaine and her husband Louis D'Alise; granddaughters Donna D'Alise Gandy and her husband Raymond and Rebecca D'Alise; great-grandchildren Jessica Gandy Labadie and her husband Brian, William D'Alise Farabaugh, and Margaret Elaine Farabaugh; brother Edward and sisters and brother in law Mr. and Mrs. Richard Acciardo, and Glennis Celio; loving nieces and nephews and friends. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sts. John and Paul Church, Coventry. Burial with Military Honors will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich, RI. VISITING HOURS are Monday morning from 8 – 9 a.m.
