Anthony S. Montella

88, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday October 4, 2015 at Elmhurst Extended Care Facility in Providence. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to the late Thelma (Pachomski) Montella. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Vincent and Catherine (D'Elena ) Montella. Anthony was the President of Montella Oil Company for 40 years before retiring. He was a WW II Army veteran where he received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon and the WW II Victory Ribbon.
He was the devoted father of Susan Montella -Jelley and her husband Scott of North Attleboro, MA and step-father of the late Sandra Marcil; loving grandfather of Ryan and Brendan Jelley and dear brother of Guido Montella of Florida , Mary Franchetti of Warwick and the late Assunta Lombardi, Angelina Ouellette, Angelo Montella and Alfred Montella.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church 1525 Cranston St. Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
