Anthony E. Resendes
87, of Warwick, passed away on Saturday, May 02, 2015, at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Arlene (Soscia) Resendes for 46 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Tavares) Resendes.
Mr. Resendes worked as a machinist for the Quebecor Printing Company for 25 years before retiring in 1989. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1950-1952 where he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. He was a former member of the Holy Rosary Drum and Bugle Core, a member of the Manton Seniors and the Cranston Senior Center, where he loved to play bocce and poker. He was the devoted father of David A. Resendes and his wife Minh, Robert J. Resendes and his wife Marie, and Susan M. Cullion and her husband Mark, and loving companion of Anne Castellone. He was the loving grandfather of Holly, Keri, Anthony and Nicholas; and dear brother of Margaret Walz, Patricia Policelli, Edward Resendes and the late Daniel Resendes.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Wednesday at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 10:00 am. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm.
