Anthony J. Rodi
91, of Cranston and Marco Island, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 in Florida. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (Nason) Rodi. He was the loving companion of Dr. Petronella Morsch. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio and Olympia (Saccoccia) Rodi.
Anthony graduated from Rhode Island State University, currently University of Rhode Island with a Civil Engineering degree. He was involved with several companies in the RI Highway Heavy Construction Industry upon graduating. In 1970 he started his own company Universal Construction which he was owner and president of for many years until retirement. Anthony was an avid golfer and was a member of the Alpine Country Club for many years. He was also a member of the National Professional Society of Engineers and he loved traveling and gardening.
He is survived by his loving children, Anthony J. Rodi, Jr. and his wife Barbra of Cranston, Diane Trump of South Kingstown and the late Kathleen Andrews; dear sister Ann Frisch of Mission Viejo, CA; 8 cherished grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Edward Rodi.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
