Anthony “Tony” M. Ricci, 59, of Johnston, passed away on Wednesday November 5, 2025, with his family by his side. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of Betty Izzo Ricci and the late Angelo Ricci, and devoted husband of Helen Savedow-Ricci for 18 years.
Tony was a hard worker having several jobs throughout his life, including Rocky Point, his family's disposal company, Izzo Brother’s Disposal, and the Kelly–Gazzero VFW Post 2812. Rides to the beach to watch the sunset or dig for quahogs was one of his many interests. He spent his free time reading, rewatching an episode, or several, of Star Trek, and attending custom car shows. Tony was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need, would give a stranger the shirt off his back, and never spoke an ill word about anyone. He loved his title of “Papa” and looked forward to his haircuts with his grandson Levi, one of the many family moments that he enjoyed. Family was Tony’s first and most important priority.
Besides his mother and his wife, he leaves his sister Lisa-Marie Ricci-Russo and her husband Robert, his nephew Nikolas M. Ricci and his wife Giana, and great-nephew Raphael J. Ricci. He was the stepfather of Alicia McCreery, Jimmy McCreery, and the Papa of Levi and Helen McDonald.
The funeral will leave at 10:15 on Thursday, November 13 from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4:00–7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the RISPCA, 155 Plan Way, Warwick, RI 02886.
