Anthony "Tony the Barber" Previte

90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at his home.

He was born on June 17, 1932 in San Pier Niceto, Sicily, Italy he was a son of the late Antonio and Concetta (Moraca) Previte.

He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Geraldine (Grelle) Previte; his 2 daughters, Robin Renzi and her husband Dave, and Dana Burdick and her husband Teddy; his granddaughter Andrea and her husband Matt, and grandson Jacob; his siblings, Joseph Previte, Peter Previte, Mary Mitchell and Roseann Kane. He was the brother of the late Frances Insana.

He resided in North Providence, RI after coming to the United States at the age of 18.  Anthony served in the US Army during the Korean War.  After the war, he started his lifelong career as a Barber.  He owned a barbershop in Providence, RI for over 60 years.  He was committed to his customers.  When he retired at the age of 84, he was still dedicated to his work.  During this time, customers reached out and visited him.

He was a member of Mary Mother of Mankind Church and he helped during the offertory for many years.  Anthony loved to make others smile and laugh.  He loved spending time with his friends and family.

His funeral will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 4th Street, North Providence.  Burial with MILITARY HONORS will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITATION Monday from 8-9am.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Rhode Island, 245 Waterman Street, #306, Providence, RI 02906.
