87, of Cranston, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 27, 2014. Etta was the beloved wife of the late Angelo H. Crudale, for 62 years, at the time of his passing. She was a lifelong resident of Cranston. Mrs. Crudale was the daughter of Anthony and Frances (Zito) Christy. Etta lived a life of loving servitude to her family, friends and community. She was well known for her cheerful and sweet demeanor, often addressing others with "Honey" and "Darlin'". Etta expressed gratitude to any and all who showed her any measure of kindness. Her sense of humor and beautiful smile brought happiness to many. Mrs. Crudale graduated from Cranston High School in 1945. She has friendships that have thrived since childhood and ones that have grown in recent times. After graduating high school, Etta became a licensed hairdresser and then an electrologist, which she worked as for many years. Etta also worked as a sales representative for Avon for more than 30 years. Possibly the job that she was best known for and brought her the most joy was as a City of Cranston Crossing Guard, which she held over 25 years. Mrs. Crudale served the families of several schools, but her longest and most notable time was at Woodridge Elementary School, where she would often be asked to go inside and read to the children. Etta would light up when she was around children and so would they. She was involved in every aspect of her own children's activities, being sure to cheer loudly at every sporting event, dance recital and all accomplishments, great or small. Through the years, she also served as the chairperson for several Cranston High School reunions for her class of 1945. Etta was a Principal for St. Mary's Catechism education. She was active in PTA at Woodridge Elementary, Hugh B. Bain Jr. High, Cranston High School East and Cranston High School West. Etta was also a steward for the Cranston Crossing Guards union and served on the board of directors for the Cranston Municipal Employees Credit Union. Mrs. Crudale is survived by her loving children, Dr. Angelo S. Crudale and his wife Mary of Danville, CA, Allan Crudale and his wife Jean of Milford, MA and Audrey Hoyos and her husband David of Attleboro, MA. Etta adored her grandchildren: Stephen Crudale and his wife Rebecca, Jonathan Crudale and his longtime love Sarah Verges, Justin Crudale and his wife Rachel, Michael Crudale and his wife Jessica, Matthew Crudale and his wife Jessica, Jon Crudale, Christian Hoyos, Paula Gomez and her husband Jorge. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Owen, Charlotte, Keiyanna, Parker, Keegan, Ella and Avery Crudale, and Sara and Gabriel Gomez. Etta was the sister of the late Marie Rocchio, Helen Meschino, John, Joseph, and Alphonse Christy. She also loved her cherished cousin and companion, Josephine Pezzulli. Mrs. Crudale is survived by many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
