Antonina (Saia) Mercurio

100, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Morgan Health Center, Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincenzo Mercurio. Born in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Leonardo and Rosalia (Lo Buono) Saia.

Antonina worked in the jewelry industry for many years. She also worked with her daughter for her business, Josie’s Tailoring and Dry Cleaning. She had a particular affinity and felt very close to St. Anthony and St. Rosalia. Above all, the most important thing in her life was her family. She was also longtime member of the Giovanni XXIII Community Association at Holy Ghost Church.

Besides her husband Vincenzo, Antonina is survived by her loving children, Giuseppe Mercurio and his wife Maria, Josie Lo Buono and her late husband Paolo, Rosalia Bianco and her husband Salvatore, Leonardo Mercurio and his wife Tina Marie; cherished grandchildren, Antoinette, Josie, Adele, Vinny, Antonella, Adelina, Antonella, Giuseppe, Vincenzo, Michael and Marina; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Makayla, Serena, Brianna, Giuliana, Paolo, Daniele, Gaia, Flavio, Alessandro, Gabriele, Gianluca, Lorenzo, Salvuccio, Charlotte, Gemma and Amelia. She was the dear sister of Mimma Tagliarini and the late Gaetano Saia, Rosa Sirchia, Concetta Giotti.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 am.
