Antonio F. Giron

82, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at HopeHealth Hospice, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Aura Marina (Figueros) Giron. Born in Guatemala, he was a son of the late Floriano and Maria (Migoya) Giron.

Antonio immigrated to New York from Guatemala in 1969 where he began working in various restaurants. This is where he developed his love for food and cooking which continued throughout his life. Upon settling in Rhode Island, he developed his skill through hardwork and dedication as a drapery seamstress where he worked for many years until his retirement. He was an avid soccer fan, and loved watching the World Cup. He loved his family deeply, and cherished the time they spent together.

He is survived by his loving children, Claudia Marlene Giaccarini and her husband Carl of Johnston, Sergio Giron of Cranston, and Noel Estuardo Gasparico of Guatemala; cherished grandchildren, Lorenzo Antonio Giaccarini, Sergio Pizarro and Aura Gasparico. He was the dear brother of Carmen Giron, Julia Giron, and the late Roberto, Enrique and Antonietta Giron.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday, June 12th at 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Monday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 am.
