73, of Providence, passed away on Tuesday October 29, 2013 At Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. Born in Cerreto Sannita, Italy, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Maria (Filippelli) Lavorgna. He worked for Sasa Brothers Air Conditioning for many years and his second home Citgo Gas Station with long term friend Corey Dottor and his two sons Corey and Chris. He loved his 2-4 day cross Atlantic trips to Italy and England. His English family loved his surprise parcels of American Italian biscuits and newspapers. He is survived by his sister Biagina Favata of Birmingham, England; his brothers Adolfo and Pasquale Lavorgna both of Venezuela; nephews Gaetano and Mario Lavorgna of Venezuela, Francesco and Gaetano Favata of England; his cousins Betty M. Gordon and Tosca Filippelli and the late Michael Filippelli, Virginia Filippelli and the late Louis Filippelli. Gina, his sister has found memories of their childhood, especially when Antonio would carry Gina on his shoulders when she was tired on the way home from the fields, which was a long way. The family enjoyed celebrating Antonio's 70th birthday in his home town, Cerreto Sannita, Italy. His favorite nephew, Gaetano Favata and his wife, were so pleased to have had the opportunity to visit Antonio last year. He really enjoyed showing us around Rhode Island and local places of interest. Antonio had been waiting for this visit for many years he even decorated his apartment for the first time in 30 years! However, we are both very sorry that he didn't have the opportunity to meet our baby that is due in December, he even booked flights in January to meet her. He will never be forgotten and always in our thoughts. Relatives and friends are invited to gather in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME PARKING LOT, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston on SATURDAY at 10:30 a.m. followed by procession to St. Ann Cemetery, Chapel at 11 a.m. for committal prayers.
