Antonio 'Tony' Paolella

91, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21,2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth " Betty " ( Cardi ) Paolella for 63 years.
He was born in Providence a son of the late Pietro and Felice ( Martullo ) Paolella. He lost his brother Valentino "Landy" Paolella USCG during the Second World War. Tony was a Marine Corps Veteran of WW-II, serving in the South Pacific. He graduated from Brown University in 1949 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed at General Insulated Cable and American Insulated Wire for 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of the American Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Tony was a blood donor for more than 50 years and also a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Tony had a zest for life and was much loved for it. He enjoyed playing sports with his children, grand-children, nieces and nephews, especially skiing in New Hampshire. He also enjoyed cooking pizza, pasta and chili, gardening, playing cards, the daily crossword and a good smoke.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children; Dr. Landy Paolella MD and his wife Pati , Peter A. Paolella and his wife Susan and Dr. Robert Paolella MD and his wife Juanita.
He was the cherished grandpa of Alexa, Jesse, Gian, Domenic, Gino, Sebastian, Elizabeth and Emma. He was the brother of the late Jennie Giordano and Valentino Paolella.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 10:30am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Ave., Cranston at 11:30am. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS FRIDAY MORNING 9:30-10:30am. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 No. Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
