84, of Cranston, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Nagikian) Arsenian and son of the late Arakel and Takoohi (Tsaroogian) Arsenian.
Ara was born in Greece and moved to Yerevan, Armenia in 1948. In 1957 he moved to Moscow, Russia where he became a well-known singer, performing as a lead with the Soviet Union's first jazz orchestra of Oleg Lundstrem, and later as a soloist. Ara immigrated with his family to the United States in 1975.
He was the devoted father of Deana Arsenian and her husband Mark Malkasian and Arsen Arsenian and his wife Natalia; loving uncle of Tigran Makarian and his wife Alexandra; loving grandfather of Araik, Armen and Anais; dear brother of Christopher Arsenian and Araksia Makarian; and loving uncle of Andrew Arsenian.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, August 14th at 11 a.m. in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence. Burial will take place at a later date.
