Augustine L. Preite
82, of Cranston, passed away on August 6, 2014. He was previously married for 38 years to Stella Preite. Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late Carmelo and Giuseppina (Barbuscio) Preite.
Augustine worked as a carpenter for many years before his retirement. He served as a First Class Seaman in the U.S. Navy from August 1951- June 1954 during the Korean War, on the U.S.S. Perry. He was a commisionary man and received an honorable discharge. He enjoyed dancing, golfing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving children, Regina Giroux and her husband Jerry of North Providence, Susanne McCrary and her husband Michael of South Kingstown, and Donna Preite and her wife Linda Rodriguez of Providence; cherished grandchildren Kyle and Brandon Giroux, Brittany Austerlitz and her husband Kevin, and Michael McCrary; dear siblings Josephine L'Europa, Angelina Dupont, Theresa Sousa, Victoria LaMoia, Yolanda Martino, Edith Amitrano, and Michael Preite. He was also the brother of the late Gabriel, Louis, and Rosiero Preite, and Rose Drapeau.
His funeral arrangements will be private.
