84, of Providence, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Roger Williams. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Musto) Campagnone, and the sister of the late Ernest Campagnone.
Barbara is survived by her loving daughter, Tarsha Geoghegan, and her husband, David, of North Smithfield; and her cherished grandchildren, Gianna and Ethan Geoghegan.
Barbara had a deep and unwavering devotion to her family, especially after earning her most treasured title, “Mema.” She found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones, often giving everyone her own unique and playful nicknames—“flaf,” “man,” and “ompie,” just to name a few. She had a language all her own, understood only by her.
She loved the comfort of her home, where she enjoyed watching game shows, completing word searches, and ordering jewelry. Yet, no matter the setting, she was the life of every party—even if she stayed in one spot the entire time. She had a way of making everyone laugh, often without even trying, and her unmistakable laugh could be heard from wherever you were.
Barbara was truly everybody’s Mema. She never had or wanted much, as what she valued most was loving and caring for those around her. Her selflessness was one of her most beautiful qualities. She was the very definition of strength, kindness, and love. More than anything, she would want to know that all those she loved—and who loved her—remain strong and find happiness. Though she will be greatly missed, her love will live on and be forever celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know and adore her.
We are all wishing roses on her pillow.
Her funeral services will be held privately.
