Barbara "Babs" (Hassell) Gargano

77, of Matthewson St., Cranston, formerly of Silver Lake, Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 18, 2016 at Morgan Health Center, Johnston. She was the former wife and loving companion of Peter Gargano. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel (Ray) Hassell.

Barbara was well known for her joy of baking Italian cookies, cakes and pies for her family and friends. But most of all, it was the time she spent with her family that brought her the most joy in life.

She is survived by her loving daughter Lisa Pilkington and son-in-law Robert Pilkington of Johnston. Cherished grandchildren, Alisha Pilkington of North Providence and Raymond Pilkington of Johnston.

There will be a memorial service held by the family at a later date. It will be announced on Lisa Gargano Pilkington’s Facebook page in the near future.
