Barbara Mae (Ratte) Johnston

74, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at home. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Donat and Olive Mae (Lusignan) Ratte.  Barbara loved all animals, especially her cat Sophie, and was an active member of the ASPCA organization. She was known for her sense of humor, her bluntness and green thumb. Barbara was also an avid gardener who had a passion for all types of flowers and plants. She was an entrepreneur and general business owner for many years.

Barbara is survived by her loving children, Phillip Johnston of Cranston and Wayne Johnston of Foster and the late Robert Crispi of Providence. She was the cherished grandmother of Melynda Crispi of Warwick.  She was the sister of Thomas Ratte of North Providence and the late Carolyn Nerney of Coventry. Barbara was the loving companion of Kenneth Langlais of Cranston and mother in-law of Vicky Crispi Brogden of Warwick.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visiting Hours and Funeral Home Service on Wednesday, March 22nd, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. followed by prayers at 8:00 p.m.  in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial is kindly private.
