Barbara Ellen (Collins) Melino, 79, of Chepachet, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at Tockwotton on March 11, 2026. Born on May 20, 1946, in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Doris (Sadlier) Collins.
Barbara graduated from East Providence High School in 1964 and the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing in Providence in 1968, where she began her lifelong career as a dedicated and skilled nurse.
Barbara was a fun and caring woman, with a sharp sense of humor, who brought joy to those around her. She had a passion for cooking, needlepoint and sewing. With her husband Joe, Barbara even explored wine making, adding another layer of artistry to her hobbies.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Joseph Melino; her brother Robert Collins and his wife Rosalie (McCole); her sister-in-law Joan (Melino) Blomstedt; her niece Kris (Duncan) Toomey and husband Patrick; her nephew Keith Duncan and wife Heidi (Campbell). Barbara was predeceased by her parents Edward and Doris Collins and her sister Beverly (Collins) Duncan.
Barbara's warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all.
Her Funeral will leave on 9 :00 am on Monday March 16, 2026, from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1287 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 At wood Ave., Johnston. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to Tockwotton on the Waterfront, Barbara Melino Memorial, 500 Waterfront Drive, East Providence, RI 02914
