Barbara E. (Murgo) Tannenbaum

81, of Fort Lee, NJ, passed away on January 25, 2017 at home after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Tannenbaum. Born in Providence on May 10, 1935, she was the devoted daughter of John and Helen (Colicci) Murgo. She is survived by her brother, John and his wife Mary Jo, her loving nieces, Susan Hall and her husband Ross, and Stacey Thorner and her husband Brian.  She was also a dear great aunt to Ben and Caroline Thorner. Barbara graduated from Hope High School in Providence in 1952 where she enjoyed dancing and playing piano at school functions. She began her career working at a bank in Providence and then worked most of her career as an Executive Assistant at New York Life.  Known for her warm personality and sense of style, Barbara was devoted to her family and friends.  She was a bit of a celebrity around Fort Lee, where she had lived for over 30 years, and had many friends of all ages. Her kindness and generosity touched many, and she will be greatly missed.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday morning at 11 am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a graveside service in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Monday morning 10- 11am.
