Bernadette (Steffel) Caprio
78, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2016 surrounded by her children. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Kivior) Steffel.
Bernadette was employed by the former Allendale Mutual Insurance Company for many years, and later for Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage, Inc. before her retirement. Her greatest joy was caring for and nurturing her four grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children, Catherine Caprio Albanese and her husband William of Warwick, Anthony M. Caprio and his wife Michele of Scituate, and Elaine A. Caprio of Lynnfield, MA; dear siblings, Michael Steffel and Dorothy Steffel, both of Lincoln; cherished grandchildren, Michael A. Caprio, Mark W. Caprio, Andrew C. Brady and Ashton T. Brady.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday at 10 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary's Church, Cranston. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Wednesday from 4 - 8 pm. Bernadette became passionate about furthering Alzheimer's research after witnessing a dear friend struggle with this disease.
