Bessie A. (Cardillo) Cappelluzzi

81, of Greenville passed away Thursday July 4, 2024, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent J. Cappelluzzi, for 55 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Frances (Gamba) Cardillo, and a longtime resident of Johnston.

Bessie was a former Medical Secretary for Rhode Island Hospital. She also worked for AIPSO Insurance Company. Before her retirement, she also worked for the Johnston School Department as a Guidance Secretary at Johnston Senior High School.

Bessie enjoyed baking cookies, cakes, and many Italian dishes. She loved the beach, trips to Florida, Foxwoods, Las Vegas and spending time with her family and grandogs. Her favorite T.V. programs included QVC, Everybody Loves Raymond, and The Andy Griffith Show. She was a kind, genuine soul and those who knew her couldn't help but love her.

Besides her late husband, she was the devoted mother of Francesca Cappelluzzi; and dear sister of Frances Cucino, Ann-Marie Bessette, Loretta D'Uva and the late Vincent Cardillo Jr. and Ronald Cardillo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 10th, at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
