Carmine DiChiaro

of Jennings Ave., Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, surrounded by his children.  He was the beloved husband of the late Maria (Scacciotti) DiChiaro.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Domenico and Elisabeta (Bianco) DiChiaro.

Mr. DiChiaro was a distributor for Bachman Snacks and Utz Quality Foods.  He was a WW II U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, serving two years with the Eighth Air Force 390th Bomb Group in Framlingham, England.  He was a member of the Pannese Society of Providence; St. Joseph Men’s Guild at Immaculate Conception Church; and Holy Name Society at St. Bartholomew Church.

Carmine had a beautiful heart and loved to make people happy.  He dedicated much of his time and energy to helping others, particularly by coordinating and delivering food to the RI Community Food Bank, McAuley House and other organizations serving those in need.

He was the devoted father of Lisa Cobleigh and her husband George of East Greenwich, Gina Dodd and her husband Timothy of Cranston and Michael DiChiaro and his wife Rachael of North Scituate; loving grandfather of Jacob, Owen, Thomas and Sophia; and dear brother of Lawrence DiChiaro of Providence, Antonette Velardi of North Providence and the late Christy, Joseph and Michael DiChiaro and Santa Caliri.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday, March 4th at 8 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Dr., Cranston at 9 a.m.  Burial with military honors will be at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.  VISITING HOURS are Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
