Carol Frances (Murphy) Lawton

84, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 7, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Lawton. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Frances (Harvey) Murphy. Carol worked as a hairdresser on the Eastside of Providence for many years until her retirement.

Carol is survived by her loving children, Joy Montanaro and her husband Frank of Cranston, Robert Lawton and his wife Tomomi of Honolulu, Hawaii; cherished grandchildren, Karissa Montanaro and her wife Elizabeth, Kelsey Lawton, Frank Montanaro, Jake Montanaro, Dean Lawton, Matthew Lawton, Stacia Lawton and three great-grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Joyce Palma of Cranston and the dearest cousin of Judith Donahue of Warwick. Carol was predeceased by her daughter Kelly F. Vargas.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
