Carol A. Sherman

79, of Cranston passed away peacefully on Sunday August 27,2023, with her family by her side. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William McNaughton and Edith Conroy and stepfather Andrew Conroy. She was the beloved wife of Doug Sherman Sr., the love of her life for 67 years.

Carol was devoted to her children as a stay-at home mom for many years before returning to the workforce. She was employed by Zayres/Ames for over 20 years where she held several different positions. With her husband by her side, they enjoyed traveling and spent much of their time in Florida. She will always be remembered for her incredible strength, caring heart, and unconditional love. In her younger years, her home was the host of most holidays, Wednesday night dinners, and 4th of July pool parties. Carol treasured the time she spent with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren.

Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Doug Sherman Jr. and his wife Judy, David Sherman and his wife Sheri, Dennis Sherman and his wife Jane, and Dyan Barker and her partner Craig. She was the doting grandmother of Amanda Sherman, Ryan Sherman, Mark Sherman and his wife Caralyn, Alison Sherman, SGT Jonathan Sherman, Timmy Sherman, Carissa Sherman, Jenna Sherman, Madison Barker, and Jack Barker.

She will be greatly missed, but forever remembered as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, August 31st from 5 – 7 p.m. at Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI. Respectfully, burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Lifespan Cancer Institute at RI Hospital, 593 Eddy St, Providence, RI 02903.
