Carolyn J. (Tartaglia) Muccio

passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026. Born on October 19, 1945, in Providence, RI, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Odelia (Morris) Tartaglia. Carolyn's life was marked by her warmth, creativity, and unwavering commitment to those she cherished.

A longtime communicant of St. Rocco’s Parish, Carolyn found solace and strength in her Christian faith, which guided her through her many roles and family relationships. She was known for her loving nature, especially as a mother, instilling values of kindness and resilience in her children.

Carolyn had a passion for baking and a deep love of reading and writing, often sharing the joy of stories and the comfort of home-baked treats with family and friends. Saturdays were special times as she eagerly gathered with her sisters, cherishing their time together. Her creativity blossomed through her writing; she was a recreational writer of children's poetry and short stories, with some of her works published in children's magazines, a proud achievement reflecting her dedication and talent.

She is survived by her beloved children: Ernesto Muccio and his wife Jerilyn of Westerly; Adelchi "Dino" Muccio of Wilmington, NC; Vincenzo G. Muccio and his wife AnnaMaria of Lisbon, CT; Dianna M. Canavan of Johnston and her partner Mike Iskra; and John C. Muccio and his wife Michelle of Torrington, CT. Carolyn’s legacy also continues through her many grandchildren: Stephanie Lyman, Ace Muccio, Isabella Muccio, Nicholas D'Aquila, Dylan Muccio, Natalie Muccio, Giovanni Muccio, RosaMaria Race, and Guiseppe Race, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She also leaves her sisters, Joanne Kates and Marie Tartaglia.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her siblings Sandra Rocchio, Irene Roccio, Margie Ramirez, Louise Simonelli, Frances Patterson, Delores Rea, Salvatore Tartaglia, Elizabeth Villaneuva, and Carmine Petraca. Their memories remained a cherished part of her life.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 10am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston.
