beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother peacefully passed away on April 8th, 2024, at the age of 96. Born in West Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Miller and E. Lemoyne (Gillette) Miller. Carrie was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 60 years, Thomas P. Nally.
Carrie was a passionate learner, graduating from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and receiving an honorary degree from URI. She was a dedicated participant in continuing education classes through OLLIE at URI, embodying a lifelong commitment to knowledge and growth.
An embodiment of vitality, Carrie remained active well into her later years, enjoying golf and skiing until the age of 90 and serving on the ski patrol at Yawgoo Valley until 79. She was a devoted fan of the Red Sox and URI sports, holding basketball season tickets for an impressive 68 years.
Together with her husband, Tom, Carrie embarked on numerous adventures, traveling extensively and attending URI team games across the country and internationally. She was a woman of diverse talents and passions, excelling as an accomplished knitter, musician, and performer. Carrie's handmade Lopi wool sweaters adorned her family and friends, while her musical talents graced the Kingston Congregational Choir and Kinney Azalea Tea performances with her recorder quartet. She loved watching her bird feeders, walking along the seawall, and strolling through the woods where she would amaze everyone with her plant identification skills.
Carrie's greatest joy was her family. She was the loving mother of Tom (Patty), the late Ray (late Betsy), Mark (Carol), the late Steve, Kit (Mark Schlosky), and Tricia (Chuck Hogan). She was the adoring grandmother of Mike (Jenn), Dan (Kelly), Lauren (Mike Iappini), Beau (David Van Brunt), Steph, Tim, Jim (Vicky), Rick (Jaclyn), and Bill (Maddie) Hogan, and cherished great-(great)-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
