96, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, March 5th, 2023 at John Clarke Retirement Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William Siravo, Sr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Rose (Greenhalgh) Reed, Sr. Carolyn is survived by her loving children, Susan Siravo, Lee Eddy, Mary Wheeler (Geoffrey), Stephen Siravo (Kate) and the late William Siravo Jr. (Brenda) : cherished grandchildren Reed Love (Laura), Taylor, Zachariah, and Stets Eddy, Emily, Carolyn, and Isabel Wheeler, Olivia Siravo : great grandchild Leland Love : sister of Allan Reed, and the late Ernest Reed, Jr.
Carolyn was a graduate of Classical High School, Rhode Island State College (now URI), and a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She also attended The Modern School of Fashion and Design, Boston, Massachusetts. Before marriage, Carolyn worked for Filenes of Boston as Display Coordinator, at Downtown Crossing, and traveled to New York often to attend runway shows and events when few women in the profession did so. Carolyn stayed involved and pursued her creative interests while raising five children. She was President of the Meshanticut Garden Club, Judge for the Federation of Garden Clubs, won many awards in floral design, and established the Meshanticut Junior Garden Club. Lyn loved needlework, oil painting, interior design, and searching flea markets, antique fairs and thrift shops for finds. She maintained a lovely home along with the presence of five children and many beloved dogs, always with a welcoming open door. Carolyn loved antiques, and maintained a small business acquiring treasures and instilling a love and passion for all things beautiful in her children and all who were blessed to know her. Her abiding love and spirit will be profoundly missed.
Her funeral service will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Saturday at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.
