89, of East Greenwich, RI, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family.
She was the beloved wife of Frank Vecchio, with whom she shared 70 wonderful years of marriage—a bond filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Born to the late Anthony and Emma (Ise) Nicolo, Carolyn was also the loving sister of the late Dorothy Pompei and Norma Russo. She is survived by her loving children: Audrey Palmisciano (Peter), Lesly Vecchio (Dr. Thomas Conley), Karen Ponte, and Frank Vecchio; eight cherished grandchildren; and four adored great-grandchildren.
Carolyn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, deep faith, and boundless love for her family. As the matriarch of the family, she was the rock, the orbit, and the heart of it all. A devoted and loving mother, she raised her children with compassion, resilience, and grace—always leading by example and putting family first.
To her grandchildren, Carolyn was more than just a grandmother—she was a guiding light. Whether through her delicious home-cooked meals, warm hugs, or thoughtful conversations, she made each grandchild feel deeply loved and safe. Her presence brought comfort, her words offered wisdom, and her traditions will live on in the generations to come.
Known for her magnificent cooking and her gift for bringing people together, Carolyn created a home filled with warmth, prayer, and the rich aroma of her signature Italian dishes. Her door was always open, and every gathering was a celebration of family and faith.
Carolyn had an infinite devotion to our Blessed Mother and began each day in prayer, lovingly lifting up every member of her family by name. Her deep faith was the quiet strength behind everything she did, guiding her life with grace, purpose, and compassion.
She will be remembered always and missed beyond words. Her light will continue to shine within all of us.
