Catherine ((Higgins)) Canning

of Cranston passed away on Thursday August 24, 2017 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence.

She was the wife of the late Richard E. Canning.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Canning) Higgins. Catherine worked for the State of RI as assistant to the director at MHRH in Cranston she also was a valued assistant to numerous directors. She was a communicant of St Joseph’s Church, West Warwick.

She was the devoted mother of Steven M. Canning of Cranston, David J. Canning of Coventry and the late Diane M. Alexander; loving grandmother of Dylan Alexander and Taylor Alexander; dear sister of Mary Field of Warren, Eleanor Coppa of Sarasota, FL., Margaret Benevides of Warwick and the late Joan Regnier.

Her funeral services and burial were private.
