Celia (Zoglio) Capuano

of Johnston, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Fatima Hospital in North Providence.  She was the beloved wife of the late Gabriel “Thomas” Capuano.  Born in Providence, Celia was the daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (McGrath) Zoglio.

She is survived by her children, Donna J. Plympton (Capuano), Thomas G. and Stephen A. Capuano of Johnston. Celia was the cherished grandmother of Elizabeth Lafleur (Capuano), Anthony Capuano and his wife Lori, Cristine Capuano and Crystal Kelley. She was the loving great grandmother of Katherine, Adam, Anthony and Ariana Capuano, Heaven and Adelina Lafleur and Zane Tisdale. She was the dear sister of the late Robert, Raymond, and James Zoglio, Rosella Lombari, Mary Barrett, and Theresa Pezzullo .She is survived by her Brother in law Joseph Barrett and Sister in Law Audrey Zoglio. She was also the beloved aunt of many wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Celia enjoyed bingo, card playing, late night twin river trips, foxwoods bingo and was an active member of her retirement community. When you walked into her house if she wasn’t already having a cup of tea that had to be with whole milk it was just about customary to enjoy one with her.  Celia was always the first person to lend a helping hand, assist others in need even if it was to help get groceries for her neighbors, giving them rides or even just an open ear. She was a very honest woman and didn’t bite her tongue for anyone. She loved to cook, her Gravy and eggplant was her specialty for her family and people who lived in her community. She was her own meals on wheels for the elderly. If you know Celia you know the KFC famous bowl, buffalo chicken strips and smart food popcorn was a must. She cherished and loved her cat mittens, always had her door opened with welcoming arms, loved spending time with all of her family and truly cherished every moment with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO  FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 8 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Providence at 9 a.m.  VISITING HOURS: Tuesday 4-8 p.m.  Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
