Charles C. Plumb, III, 85 of Coventry passed away on Tuesday July 30, 2024, with his family by his side. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Barbara E. (Upham) and Charles C. Plumb, Jr. He was the husband of the late Elaine (DiStefano) Plumb.
Charlie was a graduate of Cranston High. Charlie proudly served his country in the US Navy, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was employed for over 30 years for Hudson Liquid Asphalt, upon his retirement he was the operations manager. He was a volunteer firefighter for over 35 years for the Pawtuxet Volunteer Fire Department and was a Captain for nearly 25 years. In his free time, he enjoyed sailing, whether it was here or in Naples, Florida where he spent his winters. His family was of utmost importance to him, he cherished the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his children Gayle Fazio and her husband Mark, Charles C. Plumb, IV and his wife Anne, Jennifer D’Alfonso and her husband John, and Stephanie Plumb. He was the devoted grandfather of Joshua Plumb, Chelsey Potter, Charles C. Plumb,V, John D’Alfonso, Jr., Richard D’Alfonso, Jacob Zuller, Mark Fazio,Jr., Elizabeth Plumb, and Jaiden Goyette. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Elanna Zuller.
Funeral from NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday August 3, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Paul’s Church, 30 Warwick Ave, Cranston, 02905. Entombment will be held at St. Ann Cemetery. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. VISITING HOURS will be held Friday from 4:00-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to East Greenwich Fireman’s Club, 80 Queen St., East Greenwich, RI, 02818.
