78, passed away at home unexpectedly on December 8, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan (Cotter) for 56 years. A lifelong resident of Johnston, he was the son of the late Charles F. Sr., and Althea (Dunbar) Redinger. He is survived by his son Michael Redinger and his wife Barbara of North Scituate and his daughter Mary Dean and her husband Peter of East Greenwich. He was the father of the late Mark Redinger. He was the loving grandfather of Amanda Redinger of Providence and Joshua Redinger of Hyde Park, New York. Charles is survived by his sister Julie Jacavone and his brother, Joseph Redinger of Johnston. He is also survived by his beloved nieces Susan (Jacavone) Capraro, Elizabeth Redinger, and Nancy Camara and nephew, Thomas Cotter, Jr. Charlie was employed by Thurston Mfg. Co. for over 60 years. For the last 23 years, he served as President of this family owned and operated business. He was a talented master machinist, and had the mechanical aptitude to solve any problem. Charlie was happiest staying home and spending time with his family. He loved taking care of his yard and working in his garage. If anyone had a problem or needed something fixed, he was the "go to" person. He went about his life in a quiet and gentle manner, always willing to lend a hand and never asking for anything in return. He was kind, soft spoken, funny, generous, loyal, and courageous. He lovingly and tirelessly cared for his beloved wife for many years. Charlie will be forever deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:30 am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a graveside service in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
