Charles R. Tanner

84, of Cranston passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 surrounded by his devoted family.   He was the loving husband of Maureen M. (Kilmartin) Tanner for 59 years. Son of the late Raymond and Elsie (Mutter) Tanner and brother of Kathryn Titus (David) and Richard Tanner.

Charles grew up in Riverside and attended East Providence High School. A U.S. Army veteran, he served his country with distinction as a soldier and paratrooper. He was a skilled craftsman and member of Local #1 Bricklayers Union. In retirement, he enjoyed playing golf-especially with his close friends at Swansea Golf Club.

Charles was the cherished father of Marshall M. Duran (William) of Cranston and Kerry R. Donoghue (David) of Escondido, California.  He was the proud Poppa to Jordan C. Duran (Christine), Emily D. Donoghue, and the late Justin W. Duran, and delighted in his four great-grandchildren, Jace, Norah, Luke and Violet.
