Charles H. 'Charlie' Thompson

86, of Mulhearn Drive, Coventry, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Coventry Health Center, Coventry. He was the beloved husband of Concetta "Connie" (Cardinale) Thompson for 61 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Rollie Thompson, Sr. and Monica (O'Brien) Thompson. Mr. Thompson lived in Scituate and Florida for many years before moving to Florida where he resided for 18 years, then moving back to Coventry in 2005. Charles was employed by AT&T for 37 years before retiring. He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War; he also belonged to the CWA union. Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Mark Thompson of Scituate and Marianne Thompson-Janetz of Crouseville, ME. He was the cherished grandfather of five and great-grandfather of six; he was the brother of the late Rollie Thompson, Jr. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Sts. John & Paul Church, Coventry. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Friday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd, East Providence, RI 02914.
