Charlotte L. (Altwein) Santucci

75, of Cranston, RI formerly of Norwalk, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at her Rhode Island home.  Born in Queens, NY she was the daughter of the late Josephine (Ponichtera) Altwein.

She leaves behind her beloved husband Gennaro “Jerry” Santucci of 59 years; her loving children David and his wife Karen of New Faifield, CT, Gerald and his wife Debbie of Pittsburgh, PA, Bryan and his wife Andrea of Cranston; cherished grandchildren Kristen, David C., Julia, Scarlet, Gennaro, David M., and great grandson Connor; dear brother Charlie of Easton, MA.  She was the sister of the late Sandy Whalen.  The family greatly appreciates the love, support and care from all our many nieces and nephews especially Debbie & Steve Iacobbo and our dear friends Peggy & Richard Harris.

She was an active member with the RI Red Hats.  She was honored by RI Senator Jim Langevin and the Department of Veterans Affairs for her “Veterans quilt of honor.”  She was an award winning painter, artist, and quilter.  She loved walking her dog (Amber) and was an avid golfer at Norwalk’s Shorehaven Golf Club.  She was also the Chairwoman for the Norwalk Heart Ball for the Norwalk Hospital Cardiac Ward.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, RI followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Paul’s Church, One St. Paul Place, Cranston, RI.  Burial will take place at a later date.  VISITING HOURS are Friday from 5 – 8 p.m.
