Chester M. "Chet" Soares, Jr.

Chester M. Soares, Jr.  of Cranston, Rhode Island passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of November 20, 2023 at Briarcliffe Manor in Johnston, RI. Born on June 7, 1950, Chester was the son of the late Chester M. Soares, Sr. and the late Hester J. Soares both of Cranston, Rhode Island. He is survived by his sister Renée S. Soares of Middletown, Connecticut along with several cousins and extended family.

Chester was a graduate of La Salle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island and went on to work for the Nestle’s Corporation in White Plains, New York as a Payroll Control Manager. Known to family, friends, and colleagues as Chet, he was an avid lover of music from all genres. In his youth he played bugle for a local Drum and Bugle Corp in Providence, Rhode Island. In his later years, he became a drummer and percussionist while living in New York and is best known for his work on the CD Journey To Eternity by Sundad released in 2005.

In recent years, Chester moved back to Providence, Rhode Island to help in the care of his elderly mother. In the ending of his life journey, he now joins her and his father along with many loved ones who have gone before him.

Cremation services provided by the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory in Cranston, Rhode Island. No memorial service will be held as this was Chester’s wish. Please feel free to express your condolences on his tribute wall.
