67, passed into eternal peace on Friday, October 7, 2016 while in the arms of his loving wife. He was the son of Norma Buonanno and the late Americo Buonanno, Jr.
Dan is survived by his devoted wife Jean (Miele) Buonanno and his daughter Tara Buonanno Williams and her husband Eric.
He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Ann Arcand (Russell) and Nancy Marinelli (Rocco Pizzi), his brother Americo “Ricky” Buonanno 3rd and his brother in-law Dr. John Miele (Joanne). He was also predeceased by his brother Douglas “Beaver” Buonanno. Dan leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews.
Dan worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 30 years. Most notably with Commercial Credit, Equi Credit, Aegis and Indy Mac Bank. He received numerous awards as a manager of the year and office of the year. He retired in 2008.
Sports played a great part in Dan’s life. During Johnston High School years he played basketball, football and baseball. He served as head basketball referee in the 1970’s for Providence North CYO. During the 70’s and 80’s he organized many softball teams for which he managed and pitched.
As an avid Red Sox and Patriot fan, he shared his enthusiasm and knowledge with his daughter Tara.
Dan had a great love for music, especially the Oldies but Goodies. He served as a DJ at Flashbacks in Johnston for many years. More recently, Dan was one of the original founding members of the Grew UP in Johnston Facebook Page, where he was referred to as “The Godfather.” Dan served in the National Guard, Military Police Reserves.
Those who knew Dan, referred to him as a kind, caring and funny.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 10 from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Thursday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Jimmy Fund, P.O.
