David A. Cannata, Sr.

69, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Tufts Medical Center, Boston. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Natale and Loretta (Alviti) Cannata.

David's work career began at Davol, Inc. where he worked in research & development as a lab technician. He then went on to own and operate D. Cannata Automotive for 17 years. David also worked for Abbott Properties where he sold commercial real estate.

David was passionate about cars, from owning his own automotive repair business, to spending time at the racetrack. His prized possession was his ’73 Z28 Camaro he bought when he was just 19 years old. David also loved fishing, both saltwater and freshwater. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

David is survived by his loving children, David Cannata Jr., Eric J.Cannata and Tressa Cannata, all of Cranston. He was married to Jane E. (McCaughey) Cannata. David also leaves behind his brother Robert Cannata and his wife Linda Cannata and their children Robert Jr, Joseph and Talia all of Cranston.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Monday morning from 7:30 – 9:00 am.
