David M. Corso

September 26, 1943 — March 7, 2023

David M. Corso

79, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Mary R. (Zannini) Corso. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Marsella) Corso. David served in the US Army Reserves.

David enjoyed and appreciated the simple things in life and lived for his family. His most cherished times were spent at Sunday dinners with his family and afternoon coffee with the “Dew Crew.” He opened his arms to everyone and made them feel like family.

David started his career as a bricklayer and became a proprietor of his own company in 1967. He retired as the owner of D. Corso Excavating, Inc. His sons were fortunate to work with him and learn his craft. There wasn’t a friend whose childhood didn’t include working for him and who doesn’t have a fond memory of their experience.

David was a man of his word, with the utmost integrity, and trusted on a handshake. He was a strong man, but a gentle giant. He made us all laugh and held us together. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.

Besides his wife Mary, David is survived by his loving sons, David Corso and his wife Joy of Austin, TX, Joseph Corso of Cranston, and Michael Corso of Chatham, MA; cherished grandchildren, Arianna, Isabella, Malena, Mia, Joseph and Nina. He was the dear brother of the late Maria Colavecchio.
