David P. Couto

65, of Warwick, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at home. He was the beloved husband of twenty-eight years to Jean E. Trafford. Born in San Miguel, Portugal, he was a son of the late Ernest and Hilda (Pacheo) Couto. David was a self-employed glazer and was also employed by various glass companies in the Providence area for over forty years before his retirement. He was a softball umpire for over thirty years and was a member of the USSSA and ISA Softball Associations. David was an avid pool player.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Christina M. Paschoal and her husband Todd of West Warwick, David P. Couto, Jr. of East Providence, and Lynda J. Trafford-Couto and her husband Alberto Maldonado of Warwick. He was the cherished grandfather of Curtis, Kyle, Evan, Alexus, and Nicholas David. He was the brother of Mary Messier of East Providence, Diamondtina Correia of The Villages, FL, Natalie Couto of East Providence, John Couto of East Providence, and the late Ernest Couto.

His funeral service will be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS  Monday evening 4-7 p.m.
