Dawn I. (Butler) Cardente

83, of Johnston, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Stillwater Nursing Home, Smithfield. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Cardente. Born in Rockland, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Sherwood and Florence (Walls) Butler. Dawn dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a certified nursing assistant before retiring. Dawn found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, whom she loved deeply.

Dawn is survived by her loving children, Dean Sampson of Alabama, Michael Salvati of North Providence, and Jeffrey Cardente and his wife Corinne of Cranston. She was predeceased by her son James Sampson. Cherished grandmother of James, Nicole, Autumn, and Cailyn, adored great grandmother of Zayne, Brielle, Colson, Atlas, Juliette, and Cameron. She was the sister of Gayle Johnson of Conneticut, Peter Butler, and predeceased by several other siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services, which will be held at a later date.
