69, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul T. Carcieri, Ph.D., with whom she shared 40 years of marriage.
A proud graduate of Providence College, Class of 1978, Dea earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She began her career at the Attorney General’s Office, where she met Paul. She later returned to Providence College, where she served as Associate Director of Communications for 26 years. Even after her retirement, she remained active in her community through her role as a Guest Advocate at Target.
Dea’s truest pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her son, Greg Carcieri of the Cranston Fire Department, and his wife, Amanda; her cherished granddaughters, Madison, Sophia, and Zoey; her father, Andrew Antonelli; as well as her loving in-laws, many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary “Merle” (Lennon) Antonelli, and her brother, Daniel Antonelli.
Beyond her professional and family life, Dea found great happiness attending Providence College Friars basketball games and cherishing trips to Florida and New Hampshire with her family. She was a devoted parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, where she sang in the choir. These moments reflected her vibrant spirit and deep love for shared experiences.
