91, died on Friday October 16, 2015. He was the husband of Sara "Sally" (Nalbandian) Mouradjian and the son of the late Sahag and Marinos (Vartanian) Mouradjian. He was born in Providence, and was raised in the Armenian section of Douglas Avenue. After his marriage he lived in Cranston, RI.
Following graduation from Mt. Pleasant High School he was called to service for his country in the Army 104th Infantry Division. He served in the European theater during World War II where he was wounded in Germany in 1945 and decorated with the Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Citation and the Purple Heart.
He was a Brown University graduate with a degree in chemistry. Before retiring he was a chemical engineer with the title of Technical Director at Carol Cable in Lincoln, RI.
He was a devoted and faithful servant as both choir director and archdeacon of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church for over 62 years. Recently the choir room was dedicated in his name.
Besides his wife Sara of 64 years, he leaves his son Charles Mouradjian and his wife Kathleen and his daughter Joanne Mouradjian. He also leaves his grandson Gregory and granddaughter Monica. He was predeceased by his sister Oske Avakian and brother Charles Mouradjian.
He was devoted to his family, church, and Armenian heritage.
Visiting hours are on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 9:30-11 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence with the funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m. Burial will take place with military honors in North Burial Ground, Providence.
