Demetra "Diane" Mitrelis

88, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife for 63 years of the late Andrew “Andy” Mitrelis. Born in Kapareli Manthirea, Tripoli, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Spyros and Constantina (Pappas) Fotopoulos.

She was the dear mother of Stamatoula “Tammy” Mitrelis of Cranston; adored grandmother of Natalia Avra Foussekis and Philippe Andrea Maatouk; cherished great-grandmother of Giselle Andrea Machowski; Loving sister to Angela Provost, Georgia Kapelos, Bob Fotopoulos, John Fotopoulos, Garifalia Mihos, Vasiliki Melanis and the late George Fotopoulos. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews and many Godchildren.

Diane enjoyed working as a hairstylist in her early years. She then found her true passion as a restaurateur along with her late husband Andrew Mitrelis. She spent a large portion of her life using her time and funding to be a philanthropist. She was very prideful of the guidance, leadership and hard work she bestowed for countless charities and this provided her much fulfillment. Her dedication extended throughout her life and in 1985 she won the highest level of honor and distinction upon a layman in the historic Diocese in Boston. She was presented with the medallion of Saint Andrew.
